About MeNative speaker and writer Dutch Specializations: written dialogue, marketing texts, sales texts, websites, books about management, marketing, sales, CV translations. I am a freelance translator in the language combination English<>Dutch. I am fast, accurate and very knowledgeable in many fields of industry. With my background in various industries such as banking, telecommunications, credit & collections and business directories I fully understand what prompts readers into action and I bring that knowledge to the market at an affordable rate: my rates are below the going rate for a translator based in western Europe. I believe that it is possible to earn a decent living by offering my services for a very competitive rate. On top of that I always offer a discount of 15% to 25% on that rate to fellow language professionals and translation agencies. How do I keep my rate so competitive? First of all I haven't invested in expensive Computer Aided Translation tools. I have a licensed copy of Across Personal Edition v5.00.0C which is free of charge for freelance translators. Since I didn't make such investments I don't have to earn them back. Truth be told, I am not too fond of Computer Aided Translation tools, because they tend to restrict me in my natural choice of words when I am translating. On top of the above I have seen the rates dropping steadily during the past years. I see no need to keep rates artificially high for the sake of not upsetting the translation industry. On the contrary, every market needs to be upset once every while to ensure growth, diversification and development. I cannot see any reason why the translation industry should be excluded from such occasional upsets. Translation - So much more than substituting language A with language B Experience and ReferencesAs a part of my "Non-Disclosure Principle" I never divulge nor disclose information about previous projects (other than in general terms), nor do I show samples of previous work, in order to guarantee confidentiality to my clients. In general terms, here's a brief selection of what I have done so far: Translations Dutch-English

For references my "Non-Disclosure Principle" applies as well. Besides, what is the importance of what I have done in the past for other people? What matters is what I can do for you! And the best way to discover that is to let me work for you. I am not picky in order size, small orders from new clients are just as important as large orders from long-time clients. How to Order
InterestsI am very broadminded. My interests are literature, films, music, food and drink, cycling, board games, alternative medicine, economics, science fiction, poetry and of course translation in all its aspects.
